As a Sr. Systems Administrator based in Morgan Hill, CA we are looking for a candidate who will be responsible for the design, administration, security, and lifecycle management of our enterprise infrastructure environment.  This role owns the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of our Microsoft cloud platform, on-premises infrastructure, network environment, and endpoint management solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with Security, Service Desk, and business stakeholders to maintain a secure, reliable, and compliant environment while developing practical technology roadmaps that maximize the value of existing investments before introducing new platforms or services. This is a hands-on infrastructure role. We are seeking an individual with demonstrated operational ownership of enterprise systems, not a project-focused consultant, help desk technician, or administrator whose experience is limited to a single technology domain.

Key Responsibilities include:

Cloud Identity & Collaboration

  • Own and administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and Azure services, including identity, access management, endpoint compliance, and security controls.
  • Develop and maintain governance standards, Conditional Access policies, licensing strategies, and lifecycle management processes.
  • Lead cloud modernization initiatives while ensuring operational stability and audit readiness.

Network & Security Infrastructure

  • Administer and support enterprise networking and security platforms, including Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, VPN connectivity, wireless infrastructure, and site-to-site communications.
  • Partner with security teams to implement and maintain network segmentation, firewall policies, access controls, and monitoring capabilities.
  • Serve as an escalation point for infrastructure and security incidents.

Data Center & Systems Infrastructure

  • Manage on-premises server, storage, virtualization, backup, and disaster recovery platforms.
  • Maintain Windows Server environments and lead modernization efforts involving VMware and future virtualization technologies.
  • Ensure infrastructure capacity, performance, resiliency, and operational health across multiple sites.

Technology Planning & Operational Excellence

  • Develop infrastructure roadmaps, standards, and lifecycle plans aligned to business requirements and budget expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve security, reliability, and user experience through better use of existing technologies before recommending new investments.
  • Support compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements through documented processes, controls, and evidence collection.

This position will be reporting to the Service Desk Manager based in Morgan Hill, California

Requirements:

  • BS degree in IT/IS/CSE or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to be on call and to respond to emergency issues during off hours
  • Ability to occasionally travel to off-site locations to install equipment
