Job description

Are you passionate about creating a fun, safe, and welcoming space for youth?
Join our team at the YMCA as a Youth Program Instructor! This is a great opportunity to support youth development by building positive relationships, leading activities, and helping ensure participants have a safe and engaging experienceโ€”all while supporting the YMCA mission.
What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Supervise designated youth areas to ensure participants remain in approved program spaces and follow YMCA policies and expectations.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs of assigned program areas to monitor participant safety, behavior, and facility conditions.
  • Build positive relationships with youth by actively participating in games, arts and crafts, group activities, and other recreational opportunities.
  • Encourage participation by welcoming youth into activities and helping create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued.
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • Experience working with school-aged youth and teens preferred.
  • Enthusiasm for youth development, recreational activities, and creating a positive environment.
  • Willingness to attend meetings, training, and obtain additional certifications as requested.
Schedule
  • Mondayโ€“Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Hours will vary based on scheduling needs, and employees should be available during this time frame, though shifts may not be scheduled every weekday.
  • Eligible employees who become certified to drive YMCA vehicles for middle school transportation may have the opportunity to work additional hours, 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
