Job Title: Yard Mechanic
Location: Harpersville, AL (37408 Highway 25)
Company: Morris-Shea Bridge Company, Inc.
About Us: At Morris-Shea Bridge Company Inc., we rely on well-maintained equipment to support our field operations and keep projects moving. We are seeking a Yard Mechanic to join our team in Harpersville and help service, maintain, repair, rebuild, and prepare the machinery used throughout our operations.
What You'll Do:
As the Yard Mechanic, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing machinery at our Harpersville yard. Your primary responsibilities include:
• Equipment Maintenance: Service, maintain, and repair our machines and heavy equipment used in company operations, including drilling rigs, cranes, concrete pumps, fuel tanks, and other support machinery.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and work through problems to return equipment to proper working conditions.
• Rebuilds and Refurbishment: Assist with tearing down, rebuilding, refurbishing, and restoring machinery and components throughout the full lifecycle of the equipment.
• Equipment Preparation: Clean, inspect, and prepare machines for use in the field, making sure equipment is functional, safe, and job ready.
• Support Shop Operations: Work alongside other mechanics to support maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of equipment, while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe shop and yard environment.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine service and preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend the life of company equipment.
• Repair Documentation: Keep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and work performed on machinery and equipment.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including substance-free workplace requirements and environmental regulations.
• Physical & Environmental: Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting 50+ lbs., and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Qualifications: Basic mechanical experience, including familiarity with electrical and hydraulic systems, is required. OSHA 10 certification, ability to read schematics, and experience operating heavy equipment are a plus.
• Team-Oriented: Able to work well with mechanics and other operations personnel in a hands-on yard and shop environment.
• Dependable: Takes pride in keeping equipment in working order and supporting the overall readiness of company machinery.
• Detail Oriented: Able to notice mechanical issues, follow repair processes carefully, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
