Job description

Job Title: Technical Director

Employee Status: Full-time

Job Department: Ministry/Production

Job Supervisor: Blake Austin



Work Summary

The Technical Director will manage all aspects of technical production (Audio, Visual, Lights) at the Life Campus in order to accomplish the vision of Life Fellowship.



Job Activities

  • Manage day to day operations of production equipment including directing staff who support administrative, service, event, maintenance and other production functions
  • Provide strong leadership under pressure, including troubleshooting and rapid decision-making
  • Run team meetings that casts vision & communicates culture in a fun, uplifting and empowering environment
  • Oversee production of live and online weekend worship services at multiple campuses, LK's weekend experiences and weekly Life Youth services.
  • Oversee technical/production needs of various meetings/groups throughout the week.
  • Manage all production staff.
  • Clearly and regularly communicate department vision to campus production staff and dream team
  • Manage budgets for production departments
  • Maintain, repair, purchase AVL equipment as needed
  • Participating in training opportunities and constantly finding new ways to improve skills
  • Other essential functions and responsibilities.


Qualifications and Skills


Audio Systems

  • Yamaha Rivage, Yamaha DM7 systems
  • Dante and MADI protocols
  • Waves plugins/hardware, Meyer Sound processors
  • Microphone placement, RF systems (hardware/software), and gain structure
  • DAW proficiency (ProTools, Logic X), live recording experience


Lighting Systems

  • Vista and GrandMA3 systems
  • DMX and ANet protocols
  • Stage and lighting operation, including color balance and temperature


Video Systems

  • RED/Panasonic and Ross (cameras and Ross switchers).
  • LED walls, NovaStar processors, Teredak wireless video systems.
  • Resi encoders, SDI/Ethernet/DMX fiber conversion.
  • ProPresenter, Resolume, V-CAN, NDI configuration.



Creative & Technical Development:

  • Translate vision into high-quality production elements for services and events.
  • Work closely with Creative and Worship teams on openers, transitions, and storytelling moments.
  • Innovate with new tools, software, and approaches to create dynamic experiences.


Strongly Desired:

  • Bachelor's degree in Live Production or Music. (Preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience in live production, or worship.
  • Advanced mixing, rigging, and power distribution experience.
  • SketchUp proficiency for stage design.
  • Experience with Smaart, MAPP 3D, GrandMA offline, Streamdeck.
  • Music or recording studio experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects).


Required to Learn After Hire:

  • Internal onboarding systems and protocols.
  • Production closet/inventory management.
  • Core team structure and Trello project management software.
  • Planning Center for team roster and service flow.
