About the Role

TheYacht Underwriter is a key member of the underwritingteam. The Yacht Underwriter reports directly to the Yacht Underwriting Practice Leader with accountability to all regions. The primary goal of this position is toprofitably grow a yacht book of business by actively partnering with brokers, assisting the underwriting team, working effectively with colleagues throughout the organization and be accountable for the quality of underwriting decisions and execution.

  • Business Management: Reviewing your book of business, tracking performance, and analyzing market conditions and competition.

  • Broker Partnership: Building and managing broker relationships, developing goals and strategies, and collaborating to craft tailored solutions for members.

  • Underwriting Execution: Oversee new and renewal underwriting, select risks per company guidelines, and ensure timely follow-up and closing of accounts.

What You'll Need

You have at least 3 years of P&C insurance experience, preferably underwriting in the high net worth space. You are comfortable owning a book of business. Direct, empathetic communication is a staple in every aspect of your day, and you thrive on building connections with people. You know how to gather and analyze all the data you'll need to make a decision on a risk. You work with pride and determination.

Compensation Package
The base salary for this role can range from $70K - $85K, based on a full-time work schedule. An individual's ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience. You will also be eligible for annual merit-based increases and discretionary bonuses.
