Job Title: X-Ray Operator

Status: Variable Full Time - Must be able to work three 12 hour shift, weekend and holiday availability.

Department: Urgent Care

Location: Must be able to travel to Wesley Chapel & Zephryhills.

Job Summary: Provides quality patient care when performing basic diagnostic imaging to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.

Essential Functions - Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care. - Performs basic radiological examinations, including all quality controls/clerical duties.

- Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures. - Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results. - Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation. - Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated. - Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self and others. - Ensures that equipment is in proper working order and reports any malfunctions to the Practice Manager or leader on duty. - Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination. - Conduct basic machine maintenance as necessary - Ensures safety of all customers. - Maintains reasonable regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. - Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Other Related Functions - Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment. - Maintains well stocked and organized work areas. - Provides patient transport.

Education/Training High School Diploma or equivalent and completed an accredited Basic X-ray Machine Operator educational program.

Licensure/Certification - Current Florida State License - Basic X-ray Machine Operator (BMO) -  Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
