Job description

Description ****Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University Hawai'i may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees such as paid leave and holidays. Casual Hire appointments may last up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Title: Casual Hire - Graphics Operation Hiring Unit: UHM Athletics Location: Digital Media Department Date Posted: August 14, 2026 Closing Date: August 19, 2026 Full Time / Part Time: Part time Other Conditions: Position is a temporary casual hire position and offers no benefits; hours not exceeding 19.75 hours per week. Duties and Responsibilities: Reports to the Director of Digital Media and the Producer/Director of UH Athletics for streaming operations. Maintains and documents game/competition statistics for assigned sport

Operates Ross Xpression graphics system/or Equivalent system as needed and assigned. Responsible for graphics systems and accompanying equipment. Build in-game graphics with accurate spelling, punctuation, and grammar as assigned.

Assists in the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of equipment as assigned. Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during game broadcast. Maintain current knowledge and understanding of the rules and statistics of designated sports.

Responds to situations that involve a great deal of pressure and are time sensitive. Present an appropriate and professional appearance for an outdoor work environment. Responsible for providing personal transportation to off-campus athletic events as needed.

Demonstrates a positive and professional working attitude and maintain a collaborative working relationship with the broadcast streaming team, coaching staff, support staff, administrators in the UH Athletics Department and other individuals associated with the Athletics Department. Know, recognize, and comply with the laws, policies, rules, and regulations governing the University of Hawaii and its employees, and the rules of the NCAA and affiliated conferences as now constituted or as may be amended in the future. Immediately advise the Director of Athletics or Designee if you have reasonable cause to believe violations, whether by employees or students, have occurred or will occur.

Maintains confidentiality to include but not limited to information, files and records that the incumbent may obtain or possess, in accordance with federal and state laws and University of Hawai?i policies. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.

Basic knowledge of building graphics and graphic composition. Knowledge of rules and regulations for assigned sports programs. Strong organization and attention to detail; Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays and nights when needed as many events are scheduled on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Must be able to work in an environment that is fast paced, time sensitive, and outdoors.
