Responsibilities

Primary Job Functions:

  • Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and established facility protocols
  • This position will be responsible for providing training and consultation to personnel who perform X-rays throughout Accordia:
  • Assess and validate staff competency
  • Ensure adherence to established imaging standards and protocols
  • Support ongoing education to promote safe, high quality radiographic practices
  • Operate the Optos retinal imaging system and obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Assist providers with ultrasound, and other diagnostic procedures as needed.
  • Assist with orthopedic care, including splint application and other orthopedic support under provider direction.
  • Ensure proper patient identification, positioning, and radiation safety practices for all imaging procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and complete documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Maintain imaging equipment and examination rooms to ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness for patient care in accordance with our Compliance Team
  • Interfaces with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Complete Environment of Care (EOC) responsibilities
  • including but not limited to daily and monthly safety rounds and documentation.
  • Monitor and record refrigerator temperature logs
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) inspections, and other required compliance and safety checks
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to provide efficient, high-quality patient care.
  • Adhere to all infection control, HIPAA, OSHA, and facility safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform Point of Care tests that are allowed within your license
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned.
  • Updates patient medical records as needed
  • Provides emergency care as needed (CPR, MindSet, etc.), according to the Accordia Policy & Procedures
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize the elements of a crisis state and knows how to deescalate or resolve the situation
  • Be Familiar with the Crisis Center Protocol (how to facilitate patient's in crisis)
  • Makes copies, faxes documents and performs other related clerical duties as needed.
  • Adheres to professional code of ethics and to all 5 Star Customer Service Guidelines when dealing with Clinic Manager, Nurse Manager, Practice Manager, PA/CRNP/Physician, Team Leader, co-workers and patients

Physical Requirements of the Job: 

  • Frequent standing and walking, including regular use of stairs and/or elevators to travel between the clinic and the X-ray department.
  • assisting patients to and from the X-ray room
  • Lifting various ranges from the floor to overhead with weights up to 10 pounds
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Additional job duties depending on location may be as follows:

  • Coordinates appropriate services for consumers in crisis.
  • Performs relief for other staff members.
  • Assists with and works with all organization personnel involved with any aspect of release of protected health information to ensure full coordination and cooperation under the organization's policies and procedures and legal requirements

  • Seeks clinical supervision and consultation needs
  • Accepts and employs suggestions for improvement
  • Actively works to enhance clinical skills

Clinical Record Keeping:

  • Documents in a timely fashion per Accordia Health policy
  • Documentation shows that forms, notes, logs, and other applicable written information are completed promptly, accurately and updated when appropriate

  • Accesses appropriate community resources according to consumer needs
  • Follows Accordia Policy & Procedures
  • Maintains current State license and requirements for renewals (i.e. CEU's), and attends to required in-services and workshops
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Must be eligible for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiography certification examination at the time of hire.
  • Must obtain active ARRT registration in Radiography within six (6) months of employment and maintain registration throughout employment.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of digital radiography, patient positioning, radiation safety, and imaging equipment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining exceptional patient care standards.
  • Must be willing to perform other duties in clinic when needed that are within the guidelines of your license
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention
  • Knowledge of utilizing electronic health record
  • Knowledge of cultural diversity
  • Basic clerical skills and use of standard office equipment including computers, photocopy, scanners, and facsimile machines.
  • Knowledge of OnePacs is preferred
