Block Imaging is looking for a dedicated and technically skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team in the Philadelphia area.
As a Field Service Engineer at Block Imaging, you'll play a key role in maintaining and servicing high-quality imaging equipment that impacts patient care every day. In this role, you'll work onsite at a local hospital and healthcare facility, providing top-tier maintenance and service for advanced imaging equipment that directly impacts patient care.

Job Description Summary:
Responsible for providing high-quality technical support and service to our medical imaging customers. This includes the installation, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of medical imaging equipment (primarily X-Ray), ensuring it meets the highest operational standards. You will work independently in the field to diagnose and resolve technical issues, while adhering to safety regulations and OEM specifications.
Essential Functions and Job Duties:
  • Service medical imaging equipment focused within the Metro Philadelphia area.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot imaging systems and computer components to ensure performance aligns with OEM specifications
  • Ensure the system operates effectively to meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Move the company forward in engineering competency.
  • Represent the company professionally in all on-site interactions and communicate customer feedback effectively to internal teams.
  • Evaluate, install, and perform preventive maintenance on imaging equipment, while providing advanced-level troubleshooting and repair of electronic, mechanical, and network-related issues.
  • Continual expansion of knowledge base in the repair and installation of equipment.
  • Provide regular project updates, feedback, and insights to management, including the Zone Service Director, to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Remain available to address technical issues and respond to inquiries promptly.
  • Document newly developed processes and provide training to end users.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and organizational goals.

  • Drivers must comply with on-the-job driver's safety training if asked to operate rental trucks or fleet vehicles
  • Must be 21 or older to drive company vehicle

Education or Relevant Experience:
  • AS or BS in Biomedical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent military/technical training
  • 0-2 years experience servicing electro-mechanical or medical equipment
  • Strong electronics and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
  • Exposure to X-ray, Ultrasound, C-arm, or assist-level CT/MR (PMs, parts swaps)
  • Basic computer/networking skills and software loading
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and hospital compliance
  • Good customer communication and service documentation skills
  • Willingness to learn and work under senior FE guidance

The base pay range for this position is:
