JOB PURPOSE:

Conduct world class Inspection Services and technical support for the best use of industrial X-ray and CT equipment in support of our X-ray Business Development team, field service engineers, customers, and potential customers. This role will be under direct supervision of experienced X-ray and CT Professionals with ASNT Level III certifications.

LOCATION:

Brighton, MI (HQ)

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Will include, but not limited to the following:

  • Lead in person and web meetings to present to customers at all NML locations.
  • Help with general lab operations on a day-to-day basis:
  • Perform Digital Radiography to customer goals.
  • Perform Computed Tomography scanning to meet customer goals.
  • Process X-ray data in accordance with internal quality standards.
  • Prepare reports based on customer needs.
  • Manage customer parts while in NMI custody.
  • Provide excellent customer service by maintaining proactive communication with customers.
  • Learn and Train fellow users of all backgrounds in the use of X-ray CT (including all Nikon software packages).
  • Ability to demonstrate Nikon’s range of X-ray equipment and latest technology.
  • Discuss customers’ applications and decide the best configuration of X-ray system to assist Business Development with preparing quotations.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest X-ray and CT scanning techniques, national and international standards and suggest how they may be used with Nikon equipment.
  • Support Equipment Sales team with demos and on-site visits.
  • Support Equipment Sales team by performing Factory Acceptance Tests
  • Other duties as assigned.

ANCILLARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in distributing pertinent technical information to Business Development personnel.
  • Ensure equipment and lab are operational and presentable at all times.
  • Recommend process and participate in improvements to enhance product performance and ease-of-use.
  • Log/track customer communications in CRM.
  • Log/track demonstrations and projects.
  • Test/Log bugs in new software versions.
  • Ability to pass NAS 410 Level 2 test when training and experience hours requirements are complete.
  • Represent Nikon X-ray at Trade shows
  • Professionally Represent Nikon at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must meet all requirements to access and work with ITAR-controlled information and materials.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Self-motivated and well organized

Certificates, License, Registrations:

  • Minimum 2- or 4-year degree in Non-destructive Testing, Physics, or other related field or equivalent experience.

DESIRABLE

  • Previous industrial X-ray / CT experience.
  • Previous use of VGStudio MAX analysis software.
  • Strong understanding of industrial x-ray imaging systems and components.

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to observe, monitor, collect and record data.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to review data, identify trends and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively as an individual and within a team.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Up to 20-25% domestic and international travel, as required.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work, as needed.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
