Description

Potomac State College (WVU Keyser), part of the West Virginia University system of campuses, located in Keyser, WV is seeking applications for a part-time Assistant Men's Soccer Coach.

About the Opportunity

The Assistant Men's Soccer Coach will assist the head coach and athletics director in all daily operations of the PSC Men's Soccer team and as needed in the Athletics Department.

What you'll do:

  • Daily responsibilities of coaching their sport.
  • Run practices according to the athletic department mission.
  • Coach in games and travel with team.
  • Drive student-athletes in college vehicles as needed to practices and games.
  • Assist head coach in the recruitment of new student-athletes
  • Assist in the retention of current student-athletes
  • Assist in providing academic support to ensure graduation of student-athletes
  • Abide by NJCAA, WVU, Potomac State, and the Athletic Department policies and procedures.
  • Assist in creating success within a collegiate athletic program.
  • Assist with community service events throughout the year.
  • Assist with camps/clinics throughout the year.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Appointment Length: 10 months

Work Hours: 5.5 hours per week

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience playing or coaching at the college level
  • Previous experience in goal keeping or goal keeping training is preferred
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
  • Basic knowledge of the following computer programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
  • Thorough knowledge of office machinery.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to complete tasks that have set deadlines.
Requirements
  • First aid and CPR certification
  • Valid Driver's License
