This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Bridge CADD for our Austin, TX office. Be involved in projects with our Bridge Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.
The Austin Bridge Team provides transportation and infrastructure structural design services to numerous agencies throughout Texas. Under minimal supervision, this position will utilize Bentley OpenRoads Designer, OpenBridge Modeler, ProjectWise, and other software to create report or presentation graphics and engineering contract documents. Task assignments may include developing technical CADD details of increasing complexity and ability to generate concise design phase deliverables such as plans, profiles, sections, 3D models, and quantities. Ensure that deliverable responsibilities adhere to a level of quality consistent with WSP and industry standards for design, accuracy, and functionality.
Your Impact
  • Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and sketches for conventional concrete and steel bridges, retaining walls, and miscellaneous structures using computer-aided design software
  • Analytical mindset and ability to understand plans, design sketches and drawings.
  • Develop details with minimal verbal direction from mark-ups, sketches, and examples.
  • Ability to execute tasks and develop contract documents as part of a multi-discipline team.
  • Assist office staff in use of CADD software, including troubleshooting of CADD issues.
  • Adhere to WSP USA Quality Assurance Policies/Procedures, CADD protocol, as well as client standards and requirements.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: 5+ years
  • Experience with OBM, ORD, and with Digital Delivery.
  • Experience with TxDOT Bridge Detailing Guide, TxDOT Bridge Standards, and detailing and design support principles, practices, and processes.
  • Sound self-leadership with attention to detail, ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and follow supervisor's or engineer's instruction.
  • Ability to uphold WSP's workplace safety, health, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
  • Ability for work schedule to occasionally extend beyond the typical workweek to deliver project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in closely related discipline
