Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1st Pouring Clerk at our Tupelo/Verona, MS manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for ordering, tracking, receiving, maintaining and reporting raw material inventories as well as managing all aspects of the pouring station pour log data.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence. As an hourly Pouring Clerk, the successful candidate will be expected to communicate daily with multiple levels of Company personnel and most importantly with the Managers, Supervisors, and employees in the manufacturing plant. The Pouring Clerk works in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes.

Additional responsibilities of the Pouring Clerk will include:

  • Maintaining chemical usage reports daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Verifies pour log calculations and alerts Pouring Manager or Technical Director of discrepancies.
  • Distributes pouring schedules to appropriate personnel within the division.
  • Prepares paperwork for chemical transloading.
  • Performs SAP pour log chemical usage back-flushes.
  • Responsible for maintaining and reconciling accurate inventories of chemicals and supplies.
  • Submit purchase orders and maintain records for department supplies.
  • Maintain value of order where needed.
  • Other duties assigned by Lead, Supervisor, or Manager

Skills/ Requirements

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6+ months of related experience preferred.
  • Ability to pass a Pulmonary Function Test annually.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and call-in with little notice.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
