Position Summary Information
Responsibilities
Cleans and dusts areas such as suites, offices, classrooms, kitchens, living spaces, laboratories, lobbies, museums, locker rooms, stairways, corridors and elevators. Make beds as required. Dust, mops and wet mops floors. Cleans and polishes furniture and cleans inside windows on floor level. Cleans and maintains restrooms and bathrooms. Clean glass, chalkboards, display cases, interior partitions and light fixtures which are reachable from the floor. Refill toilet paper, paper towel and soap dispensers. Clean and polish hardware such as doors, woodwork, door handles, push plates, kick plates, metal handrails and drinking fountains. Vacuums and spot clean rugs. Removes and cleans floor mats and entrance rug runners. Maintains custodial and storage areas in a clean orderly manner. Maintain adequate supply of cleaning equipment, materials and supplies. Use cleaning tools such as mops, brooms, squeegees, cleaning cloths, sponges, pails, brushes, vacuum cleaners, etc. Turn in found articles in accordance with University policy. Remove waste paper baskets and containers, and empties same into trash containers and cleans area after trash has been picked up. Remove snow, ice and littler from building entrances or sweep same. Reports all repairs required and safety and fire hazards to building secretary and immediate supervisor. Observe safety standards and practices. Lift and carry objects of at least 30-60 pounds unassisted. Perform related duties as required or assigned within job classification.
