Adjunct Faculty Open Rank - English (First-Year Composition) **FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT** The Department of English at Kingsborough Community College is seeking to hire Adjunct Lecturer, Adjunct Assistant Professor, Adjunct Associate Professor and Adjunct Professor levels to teach First-Year Composition starting in the fall 2026 semester. Preference will be given to applicants who have both strong credentials and teaching experience. Adjunct faculty perform teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. They share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions. **Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.** **QUALIFICATIONS** For Adjunct Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor: An earned doctorate in English, Composition and Rhetoric, Writing Studies, English Education, or another appropriate degree is required. Also required is the ability to teach successfully in various instructional modalities. For Adjunct Lecturer: Master's degree in English, Composition and Rhetoric, or another appropriate degree is required. Also required is the ability to teach successfully in various instructional modalities. **COMPENSATION** Adjunct Lecturer: $116.44 per hour Adjunct Assistant Professor: $125.06 per hour Adjunct Associate Professor: $133.69 or $134.29 per hour Adjunct Professor: $142.31 or $147.94 per hour Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
