Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Integrated Product Support Engineer to be responsible for specialized tasks in technical writing. These tasks may include generating, developing, planning, writing and editing operational, instructional, maintenance or procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication.The candidate must possess the ability to master the complex technology and associated equipment, and then effectively deliver that knowledge to customer teams in written form. Candidate also must possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to maintain focus on a complex task.

Essential Functions:

  • Create, maintain, and regularly update program documentation to ensure procedures remain accurate, relevant, and current.
  • Develop user-focused materials such as user manuals, workbooks, reference guides, release notes, training materials, and installation manuals for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Research, interpret, and translate technical information by reviewing source documents, locating reference materials, interviewing subject matter experts, and asking clarifying questions to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform documentation reviews and final quality checks, including technical editing, style, design, layout, accuracy, and editorial review, prior to customer approval.
  • Track and maintain records of documentation corrections, revisions, and updates.
  • Collaborate closely with program, engineering, and test teams to ensure customer needs, user feedback, and operational scenarios are reflected in documentation.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization, including presenting complex information clearly, concisely, and accurately.
  • Contribute as part of a team delivering innovative solutions that support customer needs.

Qualifications:

  • To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Professional Writing / Communication, Engineering or a related field, or have completed their Bachelor's degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, along with excellent time-management abilities.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Experience creating technical documentation in structured and unstructured environments.
  • Proficiency with writing and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Word and Office 365, with a willingness to learn additional software.
  • Ability to work independently as a proactive, results-oriented problem solver.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team environment with government customers and other contractors.
