Job Summary:


Our Water Resources Group serves a diverse set of clients, requiring tailored approaches and unique skillsets for creative solutions to complex issues. Our projects often range in variety, but water is always our primary focus. The applicant would be responsible for the support and execution of water resources-related engineering design, construction and permitting projects. They would work with a variety of clients including local, regional, state, and federal agencies, non-profit organizations, and private landowners to achieve their goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Project administration for small to mid-size projects from initial planning stages through construction administration.
  • Support the development of construction plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates for water resources projects.
  • Prepare construction specifications and drawings for various water resources projects including urban drainage systems, stream restoration corridors, and water quality improvements.
  • Analyze and model hydrology and hydraulic parameters in the application of FEMA floodplain mapping.
  • Perform statistical analysis for hydrology and water quality studies.
  • Work within defined scope, schedule, and budget parameters.
  • Implement appropriate quality assurance procedures.
  • Communicate as appropriate to project team concerning questions, concerns, progress, and results.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and locations as necessary.
  • Technical writing.
  • Assist with proposal writing, cost estimating, and client management as necessary.
  • As directed, perform business development activities and maintenance of positive client relationships.

Competencies:

  • Ability to take direction and work independently as well as effectively collaborate with teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and hydraulics/hydrology software.
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledgeable of local, regional, state, and federal policies, programs, procedures, and criteria.
  • Strong industry relationships and an understanding of municipal, state and federal criteria  

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May supervise the work of engineers and/or technical support personnel.

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree from accredited program in civil or environmental engineering with an emphasis in Water Resources, Hydrology/Hydraulic engineering, or approved equivalent.
  • EIT Certificate or able to obtain EIT within one year
  • 2-6 years of progressive comprehensive water resources experience.
  • Valid driver's license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company’s MVR.
