Job Description: Engineer Representative

Geotechnical Consultants Inc. (GCI) is a 47-year-old civil engineering company specializing in geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, field and construction services, special inspections, building envelope consulting, and steel testing throughout the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions.ย We are seeking full-time Field Representatives in the Youngstown, OH area.ย This individual will be responsible for assisting engineers on construction site locations to perform routine testing for project documentation.ย GCI is looking for individuals who enjoy working outside, ability to work independently, excellent client communication skills, "can do" attitude, willingness to learn new concepts, and ability to achieve needed testing certifications.

General Roles and Responsibilities:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Provide technical support to the Project Manager through on-site inspections and testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Perform computations and communicate results through field reports.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Consistent communication with Project Mangers, client representatives, general contractors, and others to obtain project-appropriate objectives.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Responsible for maintaining strict quality control and safety standards including cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Authority to reject and resolve conflict within scope of authority.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Willingness to grow and achieve certifications as needed.

Qualifications:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย High School Diploma with some construction background preferred

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Must be over 18 years of age

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Ability to pass drug test and background check. Background check results must be acceptable for entrance to government sites and chemical plants

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Valid driver's license with motor vehicle record in compliance with Company and DOT policies

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Effective speaking and written communication skills in English

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Able to safely traverse construction sites

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Ability to travel up to 4 hours a day and walk/stand up to 8 hours a day
