Purpose

The Worship Pastor exists to develop and shepherd the Worship Department, cultivating prayerful, theologically grounded, and musically excellent worship environments that help form transformed followers of Jesus who passionately respond to God. Through collaborative planning and team development, this role advances Chapel Pointes mission by aligning worship teams, weekend services, and ministry events with the churchs vision, values, and discipleship focus.


Job Responsibilities

Team Development, Strategy & Oversight

  • Develop and shepherd worship leaders through intentional coaching, feedback, and spiritual investment to cultivate spiritually healthy and confident leaders.
  • Foster a culture of leadership transference where worship team members feel supported, challenged, and equipped through clear direction, regular feedback, and intentional leadership pathways.
  • Provide strategic oversight of worship teams across all campuses, ensuring each worship environment is supported and aligned with the vision and standards of Chapel Pointe.
  • Manage the process, empower the team, and participate in recruiting, developing and overseeing volunteers
  • Set annual goals aligned with our vision and evaluate outcomes
  • Oversee the worship division budget


Lead Culture

  • Adopt the core values of Chapel Pointe while walking the ministry team(s) forward with the culture and DNA
  • Provide pastoral care for the worship team and congregation
  • Introduce worship teams to training and resources.


Worship Planning and Execution

  • Primary leading worship in the broadcast venue with vocal and worship leadership excellence.
  • Plan the worship services of Chapel Pointe in consultation with the Creative Department Lead and do so with prayer, conceptual forethought, theological accuracy, and musical appropriateness.
  • Ensure that all the musical and technical aspects of the service advance the theme for the day in collaboration with the Production Division.
  • Oversee song selection and coordinate volunteer musicians in collaboration with the worship team.
  • Maintain musical and creative excellence across all worship environment


Pastoral Responsibilities

  • Officiate weddings, funerals, and other pastoral ceremonies as requested.
  • Participate in Elder meetings and contribute to spiritual leadership, discernment, and decision-making.
  • Serve in the pastoral on-call rotation when assigned, providing care and support during urgent pastoral needs.
  • Provide pastoral care through counseling, prayer, hospital visits, and spiritual guidance for congregants as needed.
  • Represent the church in pastoral functions and ministry moments that support the spiritual health of the congregation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree, theological training or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 8-10 years of Worship Pastor experience preferably within a multi-site ministry
  • Must have experience leading and managing staff of similar size
