Senior Logistics Coordinator (Dispatch Operations)
Location: Remote
Salary: $75,000 with bonus opportunity
Schedule: Based on business needs. Logistics operations support a 24/7/365 environment and may include weekends and holidays.

World Fuel is looking for an experienced and solution-oriented Senior Logistics Coordinator to join our National Transport team. If you enjoy solving transportation challenges, coordinating complex logistics operations, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, and driving operational excellence, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Senior Logistics Coordinator, you'll play a critical role in ensuring fuel deliveries are executed safely, efficiently, and on time. You'll serve as a key point of contact for drivers, customers, carriers, suppliers, and internal teams while managing transportation operations and resolving challenges in real time.
In addition to coordinating daily dispatch activities, you'll help improve operational performance, support transportation decision-making, resolve escalated service issues, and serve as a resource for less experienced team members.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced logistics professional who enjoys balancing customer service, transportation planning, operational execution, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
Coordinate Transportation Operations
  • Analyze customer fuel delivery requirements and inventory levels to ensure timely fulfillment.
  • Build and manage daily dispatch schedules while maximizing delivery efficiency.
  • Coordinate transportation activities with drivers, carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assign loads to third-party carriers and ensure timely acceptance and execution.
  • Partner with Supply teams to identify optimal sourcing and lift-point strategies.
  • Lead recovery efforts for complex transportation and service-related challenges.

Support Customers & Carriers
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for transportation-related inquiries and escalations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through proactive communication and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate closely with drivers and carriers to ensure deliveries are completed safely and on schedule.
  • Anticipate service disruptions and implement recovery solutions.
  • Balance customer expectations with operational efficiency and service commitments.

Drive Operational Excellence
  • Make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
  • Monitor transportation performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support initiatives that improve service, efficiency, profitability, and customer experience.
  • Assist with operational reporting and transportation analytics.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, hazardous materials requirements, and company policies.
  • Report and document accidents, spills, and safety-related incidents.

Support Team Success
  • Serve as a resource and escalation point for less experienced team members.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and coaching activities.
  • Share best practices and support operational consistency across the team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.

Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of dispatching, transportation, logistics, supply chain, fleet operations, carrier operations, fuel transportation, or related operational experience.
  • Experience coordinating transportation activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation operations.

Preferred
  • Experience in petroleum, fuel transportation, dispatching, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
  • Experience monitoring operational performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Experience training, mentoring, or supporting other team members.
