THE UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT , Grossman School of Business ( www.uvm.edu/business ) seeks an outstanding, innovative, and engaged scholar as the Schlesinger-Grossman Chair of Family Business at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Applicants with expertise in all areas of family business are welcome to apply. Of particular interest are scholars and educators whose topical interests overlap with accounting, business analytics, entrepreneurship, finance, human resources, international business, marketing, organizational behavior, organization theory, strategy, and/or sustainable business. This is a full-time, tenure-track/tenured appointment with a flexible start date, potentially as early as Fall 2026.
Our ideal candidate has published in FT 50 or ABS 4 and 4* journals, is experienced in publishing research and teaching innovative courses in family business, has contributed to (or demonstrates interest in) the development and delivery of experiential learning activities like case or pitch competitions, and is an active contributor to professional conferences and scholarly journals. Overall, candidates should demonstrate a longer-term potential to build the research reputation and impact of GSB , teach at the undergraduate and graduate level, develop innovative new courses and extra-curricular experiential initiatives, inspire students both inside and outside the classroom, and develop stakeholder relationships both inside and outside of GSB and UVM . To enable these strategic contributions, this chaired position offers a reduced teaching load, discretionary research funds, and AACSB competitive salary and benefits. Higher salaries may be considered for exceptionally qualified and experienced candidates.

The AACSB -accredited Grossman School of Business cultivates and supports 35 full-time faculty dedicated to education, research and management practice and is home to approximately 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students. UVM's Master of Accountancy Program hosts about 30 students and has ranked in the top 10% for CPA Pass Rate of US institutions with 10 or more candidates for eight consecutive years. Sustainable business is a strategic theme in the undergraduate program and fully integrated in the school's Sustainable Innovation MBA program, which has been ranked the #1 "Best Green MBA" by Princeton Review for several years.
