STEMCAP offers a variety of programming types—including guest lectures led by scientists and artists, multi‑day science workshop series, art enrichment classes, horticulture projects, and field trips—across five youth centers, from Provo to Ogden.

STEMCAP partners with experts in Science, the Arts, and the Humanities to increase awareness of and interest in various career and academic pathways for incarcerated youth. STEMCAP enhances educational self‑discovery and provides creative outlets for youth participants. The STEMCAP Program Coordinator will create, lead, and join programming at youth centers and support partnerships across and beyond the University of Utah’s campus. With the team, they will develop educational programming, advise on material needs, and support data collection.

  3. Well organized and able to keep track of multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills and collaborative working skills.

  6. Demonstrated experience in community engagement.
Preferences
  1. A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field, social science, science education, science communication, or a related field.
