The Opportunity
Our HR Governance team is looking to add a dedicated individual in Houston to support our respectful workplace program.
We are seeking an experienced HR Governance Advisor with expertise in resolving workplace misconduct through formal investigations or alternative resolution methods, including matters involving harassment, violence and discrimination.
The successful candidate will also support respectful workplace initiatives by monitoring applicable legislation, delivering training, managing non-medical accommodation requests, assessing and mitigating risks related to personal relationships and conflicts of interest, and reporting on overall program effectiveness.
What you'll do
  • Assess, resolve and maintain records of complex harassment, discrimination, violence and other inappropriate behaviours involving employees, contractors and/or third parties
  • Conduct formal workplace investigations following established processes, provide conflict resolution and conciliation support, coordinate with Legal and escalate matters to leaders when required
  • Support regulatory inquiries and potential litigation
  • Manage non-medical accommodation requests
  • Track and mitigate risk related to personal conflict of interest
  • Deliver training related to respectful workplace matters
  • Routinely analyze case trends and data to identify systemic issues, solution needs and preventive initiatives

Minimum Qualifications
  • University degree in human resources, business, law, or related field
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in HR or related disciplines

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of employment law, Human Rights and regulatory requirements across Canada, U.S., and Mexico
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to resolve highly sensitive and complex matters in a timely, objective and confidential manner
  • Proven relationship-building skills with ability to influence across all organizational levels
  • Change management expertise with track record of successful implementation
  • Bilingual (Spanish and/or French)
  • Proficiency with HR information and case management systems, including Workday, ServiceNow and SAP; experience using AI to improve process efficiency and productivity; strong Microsoft tool skills and working with PowerBI dashboards
  • Experience with governance and compliance metrics and reporting
  • Experience working with regulators and auditors

This position requires candidates to:
  • Have current, valid authorization to travel internationally (including but not limited to Canada, US and Mexico)
  • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training
