Job description

Job Title: Warehouse Worker / Material Handler

Job Description

This role focuses on securely packaging materials, parts, and items for delivery to dealers and end users, including components shipped with radiators. You will use industrial lift trucks and other material handling equipment to retrieve items from plant grounds and prepare them for shipment. Working under general supervision, you will follow various schedules and directions from the Final Assembly/Shipping Lead, resolving most day-to-day issues independently while maintaining accuracy, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Securely package materials, items, parts, and ship-loose components for delivery to dealers and end users.
  • Follow shipping schedules and instructions provided by the Final Assembly/Shipping Lead to complete assigned tasks on time.
  • Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts to obtain and move materials and parts throughout the plant grounds.
  • Use industrial lift trucks and other material handling equipment to safely transport and stage products.
  • Utilize RF scan guns to accurately track, scan, and verify materials and orders.
  • Read and use a tape measure to ensure correct dimensions and proper packaging of materials and parts.
  • Maintain accurate handling of items being shipped with radiators, ensuring correct parts accompany each order.
  • Work under general supervision, resolving most routine problems and questions with limited supervisory assistance.
  • Support final assembly and shipping operations by organizing, staging, and preparing materials for outbound shipments.
  • Contribute to a clean and organized facility by keeping work areas orderly and following workplace safety practices.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of experience operating stand-up forklifts.
  • At least 2 years of experience operating sit-down forklifts.
  • At least 2 years of experience using RF scan guns for material handling or order processing.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
  • Experience working as a material handler, order selector, picker, or similar warehouse role.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in a warehouse or plant environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of blueprint reading experience.
  • At least 6 months of experience using calipers and gauges.
  • Previous experience as a forklift operator in a clean, organized warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with RF scanning systems and basic warehouse inventory processes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
