Job description

Positions: Child Nutrition Worker (Floater position) 

Date Position Available: 2026-2027 School Year

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and current CHRC authorization through State of Maine Department of Education. Must be able to obtain any required state or district food safety training. Prior food service or kitchen experience preferred but not required. This position requires prolonged periods of standing and repeated motion; Requires stooping, bending, reaching, squatting, carrying, pushing, climbing, and kneeling; and the ability to lift 25-50 lbs.

Description: MSAD 11 seeks a dependable Child Nutrition Worker to join our School Nutrition Program. This is a 4-hour per day, school year position that serves as a floating role, providing support where needed across food service operations within the district. Responsibilities may include assisting with food preparation, serving meals to students, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and serving areas, operating the point-of-sale system, dishwashing, and supporting staff during meal service. This position may work in different school kitchens or assist with varying duties depending on daily needs. The ideal candidate is reliable, flexible, and enjoys working in a fast-paced school environment while helping provide nutritious meals for students.

Compensation and Benefits: Hourly wage based on district support staff contract and experience ($18-67 $21.95 per hour). Paid sick and personal leave in accordance with district policy.
