Position Summary
The University of New Mexico's Department of Economics is seeking a motivated undergraduate student with a strong interest in research and a data-driven mindset to join a faculty-led research project.
Under the supervision of an assigned faculty member, the student will support a variety of research activities. Responsibilities may include data collection, data management, data analysis, literature reviews, preparing research materials, and contributing to reports, presentations, or publications, as well as other research-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of economics principles and practices gained through at least 2 years education or work experience.
  • Knowledge of data collection techniques.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Skill in the use of statistical and/or modeling software (e.g., R, MATLAB, Stata).
  • Skill in collecting, analyzing, verifying, and manipulating research data.
