Job Overview and Responsibilities
The Senior Analyst of Crew Resources Vacancy and Training Planning leverages an analytical background to develop and execute a manpower staffing strategy through vacancy and training planning. The Senior Analyst will collaborate with Workforce Planning to assess and address midterm staffing needs and utilize models and other planning tools to plan vacancy offerings, optimize pilot training, and drive efficiency in the pilot workforce. Leverages expertise in data analysis and excel modeling to develop and maintain strategy. Has the ability and propensity to connect dots, see trends and patterns, communicate process results with a strategic lens, and grasp big picture implications of decisions and their outcomes. Collaborates with stakeholders within Crew Resources, Finance, and Flight Training Center to build efficient and supportable plans and communicate the strategy effectively.
• Collaborates with Workforce Planning analysts to support the mid-term plan and offer jobs that align with broader strategic goals. Maintains the midterm strategy and headcount forecasts that determine supportability at a base, fleet, and seat level for the United pilots. Determines necessary staffing levers including vacancies, displacements, staffing minimum adjustments, and the associate pilot movement expectations.
• Evaluates vacancy snapshots and writes supporting summaries for MD & VP audiences on a monthly basi
• Runs the training optimization model analyzing various training solutions to determine the optimized staffing strategy that balances training constraints, cost implications, contractual requirements, and the unknowns of pilot behavior and interest
• Supports UPA implementation/contract/ALPA related efforts to maintain contractual compliance with vacancy process and management of pilot movement and training
• Collaborate with FTC, Finance, and other stakeholders to optimize the cost and utilization of resources and capacity
Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
• 2+ years' experience in related role
• 2+ years management level experience
• Advanced Excel capabilities, strong data analysis, querying and modelling skill
• Leadership, communication, presentation development skills
• Intellectual curiosity and self-motivation to heed signals in data and want to understand root causes and glean actionable insights from that understanding
• Demonstrated track record of using data analysis to evaluate anecdotal hypotheses or abstract concept
• Strong communication skills both verbally and through visual mediums like dashboards and PowerPoint
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

• Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, or Statistics or equivalent experience in Management Consulting or Airline Management
• Crew Planning, Network Planning, Financial Planning & Analysis, or Strategic Planning/Corporate Development at a major global airline with multiple aircraft types and crew bases.
• Programming language experience
