What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager, Workforce Innovation is responsible for the overall strategic leadership of Workforce reporting, analytics, and insights within the Workforce Management Optimization (WMO) team. You will lead the delivery of next generation of data-driven enhancements to evolve our forecasting, capacity planning, and intraday resource allocations to ensure that PCO teams are enabled to deliver excellent support for our clients in alignment with our Client Service Commitments. You will also lead the creation and iterative improvements of strategic and tactical insights and use your strategic thinking to prepare impactful analyses across all levels, including senior executives, to steer key business decisions.

What will you do?

  • Represent WMO as a Product Owner within Agile teams consisting of key partners (e.g., Operational Data & Artificial Intelligence Squad, National Office Strategy Teams)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and support teams, including but not limited to PBO and CBO SMT, Finance, and Shared Services leadership
  • Deliver concise and effective analysis, reports, and presentations to senior leaders
  • Support staffing optimization for Client teams, across multiple channels, product groups, and advisor role types
  • Demonstrate confident decision making and incorporate best practices to parallel teams (e.g., Regional Banking, Advice Centre)
  • Provide backlog prioritization, business requirements, and stakeholder support for short and long-term projects to support workforce optimization, balancing between Client Experience, Employee Experience, Operational Flexibility, and Cost Effectiveness
  • Be accountable for delivery of key performance and productivity analytics (forecasting, scheduling, reporting, key performance indicator analysis, etc.)
  • Lead or support standardized reporting, analytics, and insights, to build automated solutions that can be deployed into 'BAU' production
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders and senior management to ensure final designs are supportive of the broader PCO "IMPACT" strategy
  • Develop out-of-the box solutions for forecasting and workforce management strategies, and advancing best practices within the team and across PCO
  • Advance Operational Effectiveness' strategy, maximizing synergies, enabling quality working relationships with business partners and stakeholders, including leading and directing cross-functional partners in their contribution of WMO
  • Lead projects with large degree of uncertainty, and significant change management implications, while striking a balance between business results and the organization's culture and values services to various lines of business
  • In this role, you will communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or worldwide

What will you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • 5+ years in progressive leadership roles, ability to impact and influence partners
  • Post-graduate degree/experience in related field(s)
  • Advanced proficiency in reporting analytics (advanced Excel)
  • Proficiency in SQL and/or general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to anticipate and respond to client needs
  • Strong multitasking skills, ability to act with speed and simplicity
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and coach the development of others, and role model leadership behaviours and actions

Nice to have:

  • Certified Product Owner and/or related Agile leadership training
  • MBA or equivalent
