Abilene, TX 79602

Pay: $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

We are seeking a Military to Civilian Advocate to guide transitioning service members, recently separated veterans, and military spouses through one of the most important transitions of their lives. In this rewarding role, you will provide career guidance, employment resources, workforce development support, and individualized case management that helps military connected individuals achieve meaningful civilian employment.

What You'll Do

As a Military to Civilian Advocate, you will:

* Recruit, engage, and enroll veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses into the Military to Civilian Employment Program.

* Conduct comprehensive career assessments to evaluate education, work experience, transferable military skills, career interests, and employment goals.

* Develop personalized employment and training plans that address barriers and create a roadmap toward long term career success.

* Provide one-on-one career coaching, résumé development, interview preparation, job search strategies, and professional branding assistance.

* Determine eligibility for grant funded training, supportive services, and workforce development resources.

* Partner with employer relations teams to identify career opportunities, match qualified candidates, and facilitate successful employment placements.

* Connect participants with occupational training, certifications, apprenticeships, work based learning, and educational opportunities.

* Coordinate Individual Training Accounts (ITAs), supportive service requests, and grant funded resources.

* Build strong relationships with military installations, community organizations, educational institutions, and employers.

* Represent the organization at military transition events, career fairs, networking events, military spouse organizations, and community outreach activities.

* Develop partnerships with Dyess Air Force Base, National Guard and Reserve units, Department of Defense Transition Assistance Programs, and Family Support Centers.

* Maintain accurate case files, documentation, and data within workforce management systems.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office and technology-based case management systems.

 

Preferred Qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED required.

* Bachelor's degree in Workforce Development, Human Resources, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is strongly preferred.

* Previous workforce development or career counseling experience is strongly preferred.

* Veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses are strongly encouraged to apply.

* Must possess and maintain access to Dyess Air Force Base, including CAC or other approved military identification.

* Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.

* Bilingual English and Spanish candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
