Job description

Position Summary
Baptist Health Princeton Hospital
Promotes a safe and healthy workforce by coordinating employee health services, conducting pre-employment screenings, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the overall well-being of hospital employees.
Responsibilities
  • Conducts pre-employment health screenings, including medical history reviews, drug screenings, vision testing, and other required occupational health assessments for new hires.
  • Performs respirator fit testing and medical clearance evaluations in accordance with OSHA and hospital safety standards.
  • Maintains employee immunization and vaccination records, administers required vaccines, and ensures compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluates, documents, and follows up on employee work-related injuries, illnesses, exposures, and return-to-work clearances in collaboration with leadership and healthcare providers.
  • Coordinates tuberculosis (TB) testing, bloodborne pathogen compliance, and other required occupational health surveillance programs.
  • Provides health education and wellness initiatives focused on injury prevention, infection control, workplace safety, and employee well-being.
  • Maintains accurate, confidential employee health records while ensuring compliance with OSHA, CDC, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources, Infection Prevention, department leaders, and clinical staff to ensure employees meet all health, safety, and credentialing requirements before and throughout employment.

Qualifications
Education/Training
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health unit/department.

Licensure/Certification
  • Maintains current State of Alabama RN license.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Experience
  • 1 year experience required.
  • Experience in employee health / occupational health is highly preferred.
