Job description

TrendAI, the global AI security leader and enterprise business unit of Trend Micro, empowers organizations with full AI visibility and consolidated security that inspires confidence, drives innovation, and eliminates risk.
At TrendAI, we're always seeking exceptional talent; people who want to collaborate with the best and push boundaries together. Here, your work goes beyond building a career. You will help protect what matters and play a vital role in shaping a safer, more trustworthy AI-powered future.
AI Fearlessly.

TrendAIis hiring a Director, Threat News Monitoring and AI Workflow Management to join the Threat Research Insights and Impact (TRII) team. TRII translatesTrendAI'sthreatresearch into business impact through publication, amplification, listening, and measurement. This is a management role that leads the operational engine for TRII's listening, response, and analytics functions. It includes being responsible for the team's continuous awareness function:identifyingwhich external and internal signalswarranta response, directing how those signals become published content, and quantifying the impact of TRII's output. The role also owns the data and measurement program for threat research atTrendAI. Based in Austin (preferred), it anchors NorthAmericacoverageand partners closely with colleagues in Asia.

Responsibilities
  • Own the workflow for TRII's end-to-end rapid-response operating model - from signal detection through triage, drafting, editing, and publication of a TrendAI point of view within 24 hours - for threat intelligence news, breaches, incidents, competitor announcements, and other industry developments that affect customers.

  • Design, build, and continuously improve AI-driven workflows and tooling to improve that operating model (triage, drafting assistance, editorial handoff, measurement) that compress the time between signal detection and content going live.

  • Lead and develop a team: market intelligence managers (competitive benchmarking and signal monitoring) and a data and automation Lead (analytics stack, listening tools, workflow automation).

  • Partner closely with TrendAI Threat Research team to source technical input fast, and with TRII's editorial/publishing team to hand off triaged signals for rapid writing, editing, and publication.

  • Run the continuous monitoring program covering emerging threats, breaking incidents, notable threat actor activity, and collaborate with colleagues to integrate market signals for competitor/industry news across external and internal sources.

  • Own the measurement program for TRII's output - reach, influence, and downstream business indicators - and report progress through standard business cadences.

  • Set and drive SLAs for rapid response (e.g., the 24-hour target), track cycle time from signal to publication, and drive process improvements to hit it consistently.

  • Represent TRII in cross-functional incident coordination, ensuring clear ownership, intake paths, and internal communications during significant events.

Qualifications

Must-have

  • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, threat intelligence, security communications, or a related discipline, including 3+ years managing people (not just influencing), ideally including managers or senior individual contributors.

  • Demonstrated experience designing or scaling AI-assisted operational workflows - triage, drafting, measurement - in a fast-moving content, intelligence, or newsroom-style environment.

  • Working knowledge of the threat intelligence and threat research landscape: standard frameworks, disclosure norms, the distinctions between TTPs, incidents, breaches, campaigns, vulnerabilities, exploits, etc.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with measurement, analytics, and social listening platforms, and the ability to translate quantitative findings into clear business narratives.

  • Strong editorial judgment and news sense - able to separate signal from noise across a high-volume stream of inputs and make fast go/no-go calls under time pressure.

  • Experience working effectively across time zones, particularly with teams based in Asia, and willingness to flex schedule during significant incidents.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Experience partnering with or embedded alongside an editorial/writing team to hit rapid publication SLAs.

Highly Desirable

  • Excellent written communication for both leadership audiences and fast-turn external content.

  • Background in newsroom, breaking-news, or rapid response operations.

  • Hands-on experience with AI agent or automation tooling for content or intelligence workflows.

  • Location in Austin, Texas, for hybrid work 2 days a week
