Description
We are seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the research and development of automated extraction and analysis capabilities for the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). This role focuses on integrating high-fidelity Persistent Infrared (PIR) data into the Technical Intelligence (TI) workflow to identify, characterize, and track targets of interest .
  • Workflow Automation: Design and map data transport architectures to identify "choke points," reduce latency, and automate the ingestion of OPGA messages and generated reports into the TI production string .
  • Algorithm Development: Develop and integrate algorithms for background suppression, signal extraction, target initiation, and tracking (kinematics and material attributes) into tool suites such as Palette or MAX .
  • Feature Characterization: Conduct research on target observables to derive morphography and coordinate frame conversions for accurate target discrimination and typing .
  • Testing & Validation: Lead testing efforts to verify the accuracy of new tools against ground truth data and ensure successful transition into exploitation systems .
Clearance
A current Top-Secret/SCI security clearance is desired.
Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Required skill:
  • Technical Core: Proficiency in software programming languages, specifically Python, is highly desired.
  • Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of PIR extraction analysis, dynamic target/event analysis, and automated PIR workflow development.
  • R&D Experience: Experience in algorithm discovery and applying ancillary data for object identification and change detection.
