The Workday Technical Lead will contribute to the delivery and ongoing support of Workday solutions for our clients, serving as a technical subject matter expert with a strong focus on integrations. This role provides hands-on leadership in designing, building, and optimizing complex Workday integrations, including deep expertise in Workday Studio, while applying best practices across the Workday ecosystem.
The Technical Lead will partner closely with functional and delivery teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure high-quality delivery. The ideal candidate brings advanced experience in Workday integrations and Studio, along with a strong working knowledge of core Workday modules such as HCM, Financials, and ideally Student.
Required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in Workday technical roles with hands-on ownership of integrations and technical design across Workday modules.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a technical subject matter expert, with deep expertise in Workday Studio and integration development (e.g., EIBs, Core Connectors, APIs), including designing, building, and supporting scalable solutions.
  • 3-5 years of experience analyzing requirements, producing technical specifications, conducting unit and system testing, troubleshooting complex issues, and partnering directly with functional teams and business stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions using delivered and custom Workday tools.
  • Experience supporting integrations and data flows across core Workday modules such as HCM and Financials; exposure to Student is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • No travel required, unless requested by the client.

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Holds an active Workday Certification (Integrations certification strongly preferred; HCM, Financials, or Student certifications are a plus).
  • Experience supporting Workday in AMS / Managed Services environments, including Tier 3 incident management and ongoing client support.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Workday Studio, including designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex integrations. Experience with BIRT or reporting tools is a plus.
  • Experience supporting medium to large-scale Workday implementations or post-production environments across multiple functional areas.
  • Experience with automation, inbound/outbound integrations, and end-to-end data flows within Workday.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, including data analysis, reconciliation, and supporting testing or data validation activities.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring junior consultants, reviewing deliverables, delegating work, and contributing to team development.

The estimated base salary range for this job is $135,000 - $165,000 (USD). The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron's annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron's pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $162,000 - $198,000 (USD). The job is also eligible to participate in Huron's benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
