With projects throughout the mid-Atlantic, Christman Mid-Atlantic Constructors (CMAC) is a great place to begin, continue or grow your career. CMAC is looking for Union Finishers in our Sterling, Virginia region.

What You Will Do:

As a Union Finisher, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Smooths and finishes surfaces of poured concrete on floors, slabs, elevated slabs, and site work.

  • Spreads concrete to a specified depth and workable consistency.

  • Levels and shapes concrete, and finishes freshly poured concrete at project or job sites.

  • Utilizes required tools to complete required tasks.

  • Arranges and constructs concrete forms.

  • Loads, transports, and unloads tools, equipment, and supplies required for each project.

  • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety policies and procedures.

  • Assists with related carpentry tasks, as required.

  • Ensures quality of work meets company standards.


Expected Hours of Work and Travel: Full time position, occasional extended hours and weekends may apply.Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to travel 60 miles a day dependent on project location relative to where the employee lives.

Pay: $30.00 per hour.


Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum two years of experience in concrete construction.

  • Union membership required.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • OSHA 10 hour certification preferred.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must understand safety rules and tool/equipment instructions.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Have the ability to take measurements and make calculations.

  • Have good communication skills both orally and in writing.

  • Must pass any skills tests as required by the jobsite.

  • Ability to problem solve when errors occur.

  • Keep tools and workspace organized.

  • Must be conscious of time schedules and deadlines.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

  • Must be able to tolerate heights without fear.

  • Must have own hand tools, power tools to be provided by Christman.
