This position will provide technical support on our weekend production crew. Required to work weekend shift (Friday-Sunday). Performs engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments | Responsibilities are within the Engineering Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines
General Profile
  • Requires working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical scientific or operational processes
  • Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise
  • Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods
  • Works with a moderate degree of supervision
  • Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

  • Assists engineers and scientists as they create, modify, and test products and processes.
  • Supports with technical tasks and project support.
  • Sets up equipment and monitors tests and experiments.
  • Inspects products and processes for flaws and identifies areas of improvement.
  • Observes results, collects data, and compiles summaries and reports.
  • Performs extensive research and development during creation phase of product.
  • Utilizes computer-aided design and drafting equipment during design phase.

      • Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience

      • Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
      • Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
      • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Technical expertise. Ability to understand and follow directions. Design expertise. Mathematical skills. Engineering Support. Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software.

      • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
      • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
      • May need to stand for long periods of time.
      • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
      • May be requested to work a different shift.
      • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
      • This position is Safety-Sensitive.
