THE OPPORTUNITY
A respected, mission-driven community healthcare organization in the Greater Montgomery area is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Internal Medicine Physician to join its established outpatient primary care team.
For more than 50 years, this organization has delivered comprehensive, affordable healthcare to communities throughout Central Alabama. Physicians practice within an integrated, patient-centered medical home supported by nursing, behavioral health, pharmacy, social services, care coordination and other clinical professionals.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
- Base salary of $180,000–$300,000, based on experience and qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver comprehensive outpatient primary care to adult and geriatric patients.
- Evaluate, diagnose and manage acute illnesses, chronic diseases and complex medical conditions.
- Provide preventive care, annual wellness examinations, health screenings and evidence-based counseling.
- Develop individualized treatment plans reflecting each patient’s clinical, social and cultural needs.
- Manage conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, respiratory illness and other chronic health concerns.
- Order and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic testing and imaging when clinically appropriate.
- Prescribe medications and monitor treatment effectiveness, adherence and potential adverse effects.
- Coordinate referrals and transitions of care with specialists, hospitals, home health providers and community resources.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, behavioral health clinicians, social workers and care coordinators.
- Maintain timely, complete and accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
- Participate in quality improvement, population health and value-based care initiatives.
- Support clinical performance goals involving patient access, preventive care, chronic disease management and health outcomes.
- Educate patients and families while promoting shared decision-making and long-term wellness.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies, professional standards and applicable regulations.

COMPENSATION AND INCENTIVES
- Base Salary: $180,000–$300,000
- Quarterly Incentive: Up to $4,100 per quarter based on established performance indicators
- Annual Performance Incentives: Up to $16,400
- Sign-On Bonus: Available when applicable
- Relocation Assistance: Available and negotiable
- Retention Program: Up to a 3% salary increase after the first year, with continued increases until the maximum salary scale is reached
- Additional Retention Bonus: Lump-sum bonus opportunity after reaching the maximum salary level

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
- Eligible for an unrestricted Alabama medical license
- Eligible for federal DEA registration
- Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based medicine
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Commitment to compassionate, culturally responsive patient care
Preferred:
- Experience in outpatient internal medicine or primary care
- Experience within an FQHC, community health center or medically underserved setting
- Experience managing complex chronic disease populations
- Familiarity with quality metrics, population health and value-based care
- Interest in long-term community involvement and organizational growth
