Title
Work Study Lifeguard
Position Description
Lifeguards will assist with the operation of the Aquatics Facility alongside the Facility administration. They will also monitor Moriarty Pool users while ensuring safety and enforcing rules.
Lifeguards will be expected to:
  • Assist with safety and customer service assistance during shift
  • Act as a rescuer/caregiver in emergency situations
  • Assist with building cleanliness and minor maintenance
  • Recognize and prevent potential accidents/incidents.
  • Reports safety concerns to appropriate administrative personnel
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Current certification in Lifeguarding
  • Current certification in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
  • Strong swimming skills
  • Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester
  • Must have Work Study award in your financial aid package
Preferred Qualifications
  • Good people skills and the ability to supervise
  • Awareness of health and safety procedures
  • Alertness and a sense of responsibility
  • The ability to remain calm and act appropriately in an emergency
