Fright Fest Make-Up Artist

Job Type: Seasonal

Pay Rate: Starting at $16/hr. Varies with skill / experience

Next Auditions/ Interviews:

  • Sunday, July 12th from 3pm-5pm
  • Friday, July 17th from 7pm-9pm
  • Saturday, August 1st from 4pm-6pm

WHAT WE PROVIDE:

This is a seasonal position at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, in San Antonio, TX. It features a starting rate of $16 per hour, with perks such as: Free entry to any Six Flags Park for all employees and a guest with each visit, additional complimentary tickets for friends and family, discounts on food and merchandise, flexible scheduling, Dayforce Wallet and bi-weekly pay.


Responsibilities:
  • Working with Haunt Supervisors, Stage Managers, and Scare Actors to maintain consistent and approved looks for all Scare Actors.
  • Energetically interacting with the Scare Actors while applying makeup/ prosthetics/ masks in order to produce the best results possible.
  • Setting up and breaking down makeup stations on a nightly basis, if needed.
  • Applying the approved makeup/ prosthetics/ masks to Scare Actors.
  • Assisting with makeup area setup and strike as needed as well as cleaning makeup area spaces before and after use.
  • Assisting with crowd control in Scare Zones and in Haunt queue lines when/ if needed.
  • Ensuring safe behavior of guests, Scare-Actors and Entertainers in conjunction with the Entertainment Supervisors and Stage Managers.
  • Assisting with the cleaning and sanitation of the backstage makeup areas and theatre areas backstage.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Six Flags Fiesta Texas policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.


Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Previous makeup artistry experience preferred (theatrical, special events, or entertainment environments is a plus)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in indoor/outdoor environments
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with varying schedules and high guest interaction
  • Ability to work days, nights and weekends throughout the Fright Fest season.
  • Previous airbrush experience a plus.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Our next preliminary in-person interview session for Makeup Artists is on Saturday, June 20th and Sunday June 28th. Applicants can arrive anytime between the posted audition/ interview hours. Parking is available in the Employee Parking Lot Address:17000 I-10, San Antonio, TX 78257 and you can sign in and enter through the Security Station.   • Training & setup will begin in mid to late August.

  • Additional Fright Fest operating dates may be added.
