ABOUT
Tyler Junior College is actively searching for highly motivated and experienced individuals to join our esteemed faculty team in the Continuing Education department. WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Deliver high-quality instruction and training to adult learners in your respective courses
  • Develop engaging lesson plans, course materials, and assessments that align with industry standards and best practices
  • Adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of adult learners
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting active participation and collaboration among students
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to facilitate their learning and skill development
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and advancements to ensure course content remains up to date and relevant
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades and evaluations
Competencies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and connect with adult learners
  • Proven experience in instructional design and curriculum development preferred
  • Previous teaching experience in continuing education, adult education or vocational training settings is desirable
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate students' schedules

WHO YOU ARE
Required Education/Experience
  • At least three (3) years' work experience and expertise in the fields of Introduction to Computer, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel (including macros), Microsoft PowerPoint or similar roles
  • Current professional certifications such as Microsoft Office Specialist, Microsoft Office Specialist Expert, Microsoft Office Specialist Master, or relevant industry certifications if applicable
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Associate's degree or equivalent in relevant field

RETIREMENT
Part-Time Retirement

Part-time employees are required to participate in the part-time retirement fund. The retirement fund is invested in a group fixed annuity contract with Ohio National Life Insurance Company. The plan will provide you and your beneficiary with fully vested cash settlement or income benefits after termination of employment for any reason.

Fitness Facility Use
Employee and immediate family use of the Apache Recreation Center - an indoor weight and exercise center, 18-hole disc golf course, covered basketball course, and outdoor ping-pong table and cornhole. The cost is $5 per ID.
