Position Title:

Student Worker - Athletics Ticket Office (Work-Study)

Job Description:

The Athletics Ticket Office Work-Study Student Assistant provides outstanding customer service while supporting the daily operations of the Athletics Ticket Office. This position assists with ticket sales, game-day operations, customer inquiries, and administrative tasks to ensure a positive experience for fans, students, alumni, and guests. Student employees serve as ambassadors for the Athletics Department by demonstrating professionalism, reliability, and excellent customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sell tickets for athletic events using the department's ticketing system.
  • Process cash, credit card, and electronic payments accurately.
  • Assist customers in person, by phone, and via email with ticket purchases, event information, and seating questions.
  • Support game-day ticket operations, including will-call distribution, ticket scanning, and customer assistance.
  • Help organize and stock ticket office supplies.
  • Follow NCAA, conference, university, and Athletics Department policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Ticket Office staff.

Qualifications

  • Eligible for Federal Work-Study employment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and email.
  • Ability to learn ticketing software and point-of-sale systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary and Hours

  • Students are paid the current minimum wage for Maryland.
  • Students will work a total of eight (8) hours per week.

Full Time/Part Time:

Part time
