Job description

The Program Manager, Student Experience within the Student Success team plays a pivotal role in advancing initiatives aimed at preparing and supporting students throughout their academic journey. Key responsibilities include enhancing new student onboarding, collaborating with key stakeholders, developing, and delivering new student support offerings, and providing direct student support as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects within the program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and manage program schedules.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, advising, admissions, faculty, and operation teams.
  • Identify and mitigate risks,resolve issues, andensure the timely completion of program deliverables.
  • Convey program status, progress, and challenges to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiativesto enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the design and development of new student onboarding contentandlead the execution of current onboarding initiatives.
  • Support retention and outreach initiativesfor new students.
  • Address and resolve student issues and challengeswithin key aspects of the academic onboarding process andconnect students to appropriate resources.
  • Deepen understanding of the new student populationanddrive optimizationsbased on gathered insights.
  • Enhance the new student onboarding experienceby tailoring it to the unique needs of various student segments anddocumenting best practices.
  • Formulate recommendations for enhancing the onboarding processandcollaborate with cross-functional teamsto implement these improvements.
  • Train, inform, and inspire key stakeholdersabout quarterly onboarding plans, fostering excitement and awareness.
  • Seek additional ways to add value and perform other duties as assigned to support the University's goals and mission.

  • Ability to produce concise reports and dashboards with findings and recommendations.
  • Flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment with comfortability navigating ambiguity and piloting new experiences.

  • Proven relationship-building skills, high emotional intelligence, and ability to communicate effectively internally and externally.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant technology required for the role

Work Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in student support, advising, student success/affairs with expertise supporting students through the academic lifecycle. Program Management experience is required.

Education:

  • Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution is preferred. Bachelors required.

Other:

  • Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car, or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 - 20%) or Capella Core Faculty (5 - 10%).
  • Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.
  • If offsite or hybrid role, you must have access to work in a setting which enables you to meet all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
  • Faculty and Federal Work Study roles require access to work in a setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including computer, privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
  • This role may require lifting, however reasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with our ADA policies.
  • Must be able to meet critical thinking and problem-solving aspects aligned to job duties, as well as effectively communicating with co-workers.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant. Accommodations related to schedule may be considered.

$82,400-$97,400 is the expected starting pay for this position. This offer is based on current budgetary guidelines and additional factors outlined below.
