Job description

Work-Study - Library Assistant
Part-Time 10 hours per week, multiple shifts available Monday-Friday 7am-6pm
Student worker schedules can be adjusted around class times. Any schedule changes must accommodate overall staffing needs and be coordinated in advance.
Job Responsibilities: Library assistants aid as directed by Library Learning Services Specialist and/or Head of Library Learning Services. This position requires communication and computer skills. This position will require contact with the public, students and/or staff. Some lifting of books may be required.
Duties to be performed:
  • Assist library patrons with finding and using resources, including technology
  • Use the library system to check materials in and out
  • Correctly shelve library materials
  • Inventory and shelf read library collection
  • Process incoming and outgoing interlibrary loans
  • Property stamp periodicals and archive newspaper articles
  • Actively participate in documentation and recordkeeping
  • Communicate in a professional manner
  • Perform general cleaning and equipment maintenance
  • Perform other related duties as needed or assigned

Hourly Pay Rate: $15.00/hour (part-time, non-benefit eligible)
Work Schedule: Maximum of 10 hours per week
