Accountability Objective
The America Reads tutor will have the ability to engage elementary age learners in reading. The tutor will spend 10-12 hours per week at Meade Park Elementary School reading to and helping elementary students with reading. The tutor will need to keep an accurate record of time spent tutoring, with time sheets signed by the Principal of Meade Park and the DACC Literacy Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
*Student Worker: Enrolled in at least 9 credit hours
*Federal Work Study qualifications will be determined by the Financial Aid Department.
*High school diploma or GED.
*Maintains a GPA of 2.0 (C average) or higher.
*Maintains confidentiality of student records/file.
*Ability to pass a background check.
Desired Qualifications
Previous experience in tutoring or working with children and an interest in going into the field of education.
