In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, installing, and maintaining piping systems across various projects, ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and industry codes. Your expertise in welding techniques, pipe fitting, and blueprint interpretation will be vital in delivering high-quality results that meet project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, contribute to critical infrastructure projects, and develop your skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to accurately assemble piping systems.
  • Perform welding using MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and pipe welding techniques, ensuring compliance with ASME codes and standards.
  • Cut, thread, bend, solder, and assemble pipes using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, calipers, and tube bending equipment.
  • Install piping systems for plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), fire sprinkler fitting, and pipeline projects following safety regulations such as NFPA standards.
  • Fabricate pipe components on-site or in the shop based on construction plans and schematics; ensure precise measurements using basic math skills and schematics interpretation.
  • Rigging pipes for lifting and positioning during installation while adhering to safety protocol guidelines for construction site safety.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by inspecting tools for safety compliance and practicing power tool safety during fabrication and installation tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues related to pipe fitting or welding defects; perform repairs or adjustments as needed to meet quality standards.
  • Follow all safety regulations and protocols diligently to prevent accidents; participate in safety meetings and training sessions regularly.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in pipefitting, pipe welding (MIG, FCAW, TIG), fabrication, and installation within construction or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans with precision.
  • Mechanical knowledge of piping systems including soldering, pipe threading, tube bending, assembly, and maintenance procedures.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, calipers, rigging equipment, and pipe threading machines.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME codes & standards and NFPA regulations related to fire sprinkler systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately while applying basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Construction site experience with a focus on safety protocol adherence; familiarity with HVAC systems or plumbing is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot welding or piping issues efficiently.
