The Director of Business Development for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is responsible for leading the Oshkosh Defense business development strategy, sales execution, and relationship management within the assigned regions. The ability to serve as a strategic leader through regional change, sales development, and life cycle business management is vital to this role. This individual must be able to understand the needs and issues of MENA customers and act as a liaison to promote and grow the business. Strong candidates will demonstrate connections in the defense industry which may include prior industry business development experience in the MENA region. This position plays a key role in Oshkosh Corporation's long term business strategy.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Lead high-impact strategic initiatives that address important business priorities, regional growth opportunities, operational challenges, and long term goals for Oshkosh Defense across the region.
  • Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with MENA customers, partners, suppliers, industry leaders, and government stakeholders to advance business development opportunities and demonstrate Oshkosh's commitment to the region.
  • Maintain an environment of unquestionable ethical standards; comply with relevant US and MENA region law in business execution.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources across functions such as engineering, purchasing, quality, finance, contracts, supply chain, and marketing to achieve major objectives.
  • Ensure Oshkosh receives fair and consistent revenue while meeting MENA localization requirements.
  • Develops and recommends areas of opportunity across the company and represented region.
  • Prepare and present key updates, risks and issues, recommendations, and decision points to Oshkosh leadership, customers, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that embodies The Oshkosh Way principles and supports the growth and development of Oshkosh Defense and its team members.
  • Drive opportunity identification, negotiations, execution planning, and performance management for current and prospective customers, partners, and suppliers throughout the region.
  • Manage project scope, cost, timelines, and risk assessment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Development or a related field.
  • Ten (10) or more years of related experience OR Seven (7) or more years of related consulting experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of management experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in the field or in a related area; MBA preferred.
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of experience.
  • Prior experience working in or with a Manufacturing industry.
  • Prior experience in business development within the Middle East and North Africa Region
  • Fluency in English required; Hebrew, Arabic, and/or French language proficiency preferred to support engagement across the MENA region.
  • Experience traveling throughout the MENA region and effectively navigating regional business practices, logistics, cultures, and customer environments.
  • Experience developing, shaping, negotiating, and executing international business opportunities, contracts, partnerships, strategic agreements, security cooperation programs, export compliance frameworks.
  • Established relationships within the defense community, including government, military, industry, customer, and partner contacts across the MENA region.
  • Ability to conduct executive level presentations and facilitate group discussions to tackle complex problems.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and to impact others to move toward consensus.
  • Broad cross-functional skillset.
  • Very Strong analytical abilities.

Pay Range:
$136,800.00 - $253,200.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
