As an Electrical Engineering Manager in our Space & Defense Group you will be responsible for design and development of hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, servo-mechanism, and electro-pneumatic components and systems that will be used to test the products of Moog, Inc.
Moog is looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a team of approximately 4 engineers who specialize in requirements management, system performance modeling, and item analysis tasks across multiple concurrent development programs. In this role, you will provide engineering leadership, project leadership, and participate in the development of electrical engineering process for your team. You will provide and assign the appropriate engineering resources on projects, manage the performance of your direct reports, maintain and improve engineering processes, and ensure project milestones are met. You will also spend half of your time contributing directly to the projects in which your team participates. Reporting to a Senior Engineering Manager, you will work on-site in East Aurora, NY.
As an Electrical Engineering Manager, you will...
  • Manage execution of work by teams and team members through monitoring progress, providing technical direction, and problem-solving solutions.
  • Mentor direct reports in all aspects of Electrical Engineering career development. Model Electrical Engineering industry best practices, as well as Moog core values, to promote development of world-class Electrical Engineering talent.
  • Supervise team members providing goals, feedback and recognition and developing bench strength through career planning and progression. Actively demonstrate Performance Management of resources to optimize skills and capabilities.
  • Support new business initiatives through trade studies, concept development, proposal responses, and customer presentations.
  • Manage the advancement of the product development process by providing technical support, developing tools and infrastructure, facilitating learning and continuity across teams.
  • Participate in the execution of technical projects in your domain that are assigned to you by the Senior Engineering Manager.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to an Electrical Engineering team and/or cross-disciplinary engineering team working on requirements management, modeling and analysis of flight control actuation technology and/or integration of flight control actuation systems.

To be considered for the Electrical Engineering Manager role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 8 years of Engineering work experience OR Associate's Degree in Engineering with 12 years of Engineering work experience
  • Proven ability to lead projects or technical initiatives
  • Proficiency with DOORS requirements management tool (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System)
  • Experience and working knowledge across all Electrical Engineering domains, to include requirements new business/concept development, requirements development/allocation, system design and analysis, integration and test, and anomaly resolution/root cause investigations
  • Critical thinker, adept at relationship building and leading through influence
  • Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information

It'd be great if you also had:
  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), particularly the use of SysML and Cameo
  • Knowledge of system performance modeling using MATLAB and/or Simulink
  • Ability to get things done through others, coaching and mentoring along the way
  • Experience in the aerospace/defense manufacturing industry strongly preferred
  • Direct management experience is a plus

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $105,000.00-$140,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
