Job description

Role Summary

Our client, a large-scale manufacturing organization, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support plant operations, automation systems, and electrical infrastructure across multiple production sites.

This role focuses on electrical system support, automation development, and project execution, including SCADA systems, PLC programming, and equipment troubleshooting. The position requires a hands-on engineer who can support both capital projects and day-to-day plant operations while ensuring reliability, safety, and efficiency across facilities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support for plant electrical systems, equipment installations, and troubleshooting activities
  • Oversee and support SCADA system development and deployment (Ignition-based systems) across multiple plant sites
  • Design, develop, and maintain operator interfaces, process screens (KPIs), and automation controls
  • Support PLC programming, HMI configuration, and VFD integration for manufacturing equipment
  • Participate in the development and optimization of preventive maintenance (PM) programs for electrical systems
  • Manage and execute assigned engineering projects, including plant upgrades and automation initiatives
  • Support electrical control system design, documentation, and implementation using engineering tools
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to resolve technical issues and improve equipment reliability
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards through active participation in safety audits, evaluations, and observations
  • Provide on-site technical support during project startups and plant commissioning activities across multiple locations
  • Travel to facility locations as required to support installations, troubleshooting, and project execution

Required Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an industrial electrical technician or engineering role
  • Hands-on experience with industrial automation systems and plant electrical support
  • Experience with SCADA systems, particularly Ignition (Inductive Automation)
  • PLC programming experience, preferably Allen-Bradley / Rockwell systems
  • Working knowledge of HMI systems, PLCs, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Experience with electrical system troubleshooting and control system integration
  • Familiarity with basic electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and plant-based environment
  • Willingness to travel for plant support and project commissioning

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SQL, ODATA, or Python for automation and system integration
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design tools for control systems
  • Exposure to robotics or advanced manufacturing automation systems
  • Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing environments
