The Pharmacist is responsible for the safe, accurate and efficient distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients of all ages, employees and designated areas of the hospital. The Pharmacist practice shall be carried out in accordance with all state/federal and DEA laws, TJC Standards, and hospital/departmental policies and procedures. Responsibilities also include but are not limited to: collaboration with Physicians on drugs and dosing, education of nursing staff, patients and physicians regarding medications, Medication Safety initiatives, patient profiles, avoidance and reporting of adverse drug reaction, mixing of IV admixtures and nutritional supplements and narcotic accountability.

Required vs Preferred Skills/Experience:

2 years recent hospital pharmacist staffing, required to work independently. Sterile compounding experience needed.

­­Clean, smoke-free well light, healthcare work environment. Considerable video display exposure and use of keyboard. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours. Subject to many interruptions. Frequent pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Must be able to work independently and to meet multiple project deadlines. In clinical settings, exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness), subject to varying and unpredictable situations; May perform emergency care; requires judgment/action which affect the health, well-being and positive outcomes for patients and employees.

Operational and people management skills that result in patient satisfaction, on-going quality improvement and employee engagement of a diverse population results oriented with proven success at working collaboratively with all stakeholders to meet key goals.
