Facility Location: Grosse Pointe Woods - 21401 Mack Avenue Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236
Schedule: Full Time (Create Your Own Schedule!)

General Summary:
In this role, you will provide occupational therapy services to patients with physical and/or cognitive dysfunction, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation. You will participate in patient care conferences, screenings, and program development; supervise OTAs and aides as assigned; complete required documentation; and adhere to company policies, procedures, and current clinical practice standards.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct occupational therapy screenings and evaluations to assess patient independence with activities of daily living, including self-care, work, and leisure.
  • Provide occupational therapy treatments in accordance with AOTA professional and ethical standards and develop, implement, and assess treatment plans using adaptations, strengthening, and retraining to maximize independence.
  • Provide direct patient care in accordance with productivity standards, using graded activities to restore physical and functional abilities.
  • Check, instruct, assign, and review the work of OTAs and aides as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support medical record quality, continuity of care, and reimbursement guidelines.
  • Participate in patient care conferences, CQI activities, and new program development as requested or required to support continuous quality care.
  • Promote current clinical practice standards through continuing education and in-service programs, including coordinating and/or participating in programs for internal and external groups.
  • Participate in company meetings and additional activities as directed to facilitate effective departmental operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Licensure as required by the State of Michigan

Skills and Abilities:

  • Initiative and flexibility in the work environment
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment and initiative when analyzing problems and recommending solutions
  • Ability to react effectively to the needs of patients and their families
  • Physical ability to bend, position, transfer, and lift patients weighing 80 pounds to over 300 pounds without restriction, utilizing clinically recommended lifting devices
