Peanuts and cashews are both popular nuts used in food production and snacks. While peanuts are legumes grown underground, cashews are tree nuts harvested from tropical trees. What are peanuts?

Peanuts, also known as groundnuts, are legumes that grow underground and are widely cultivated for their edible seeds. Despite their name, peanuts are not true nuts but are more closely related to beans and lentils. They are a popular source of protein and healthy fats, commonly used in snacks, peanut butter, and various cuisines around the world. Peanuts are also valued for their role in sustainable agriculture, as they help enrich soil with nitrogen.
